Using Zedata

Zedata is a CRM. You keep ownership of everything you put into it. We keep ownership of the software. You need an account to use it, and you are responsible for what happens under your account, including anyone you invite to your agency.

Zedata is provided free of charge and is still being built. Features can change or be removed, and there is no service level agreement. Keep your own exports of anything you cannot afford to lose — Settings → Data & privacy exports your whole agency as a file, any time.

Your account

Confirm your email address when you sign up; an unconfirmed account cannot reach the app. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

The extension and social networks

The Zedata browser extension reads profile pages using your own logged-in browser session. It relies on private, undocumented interfaces that the social networks can change or block at any time, and doing so is generally against those networks' own terms of service.

That means two things you should take seriously. Capture can stop working without notice when a network changes its site, and your account on that network could be restricted or banned for using automation tooling. That risk is yours, not ours. Keep your usage modest and human-paced, and only capture profiles you genuinely visit.

What you must not do

  • Use Zedata to harvest personal data in bulk or to build lists for resale.
  • Capture people you have no legitimate business reason to contact.
  • Ignore a request from someone to delete their record.
  • Attempt to break the isolation between workspaces or agencies.
  • Resell or sublicense access to Zedata, or share one account across many people.

Data protection

For contacts you capture, you are the data controller and we process on your behalf. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold those records. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and how to export or delete it.

Ending your account

You can delete your agency at any time from Settings → Data & privacy, which permanently removes everything. We may suspend an account that is being used for the things listed under “What you must not do”.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Zedata is provided as-is and without warranties, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or the consequences of a social network restricting your account. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Zedata changes. The date at the top tells you when they last changed; continuing to use Zedata after that means the updated terms apply.
